Dress-up
is a style of dressing or behaving that is most popular at a particular time.
There are many styles that can be seen of many places such as at university,
shopping mall and e.t.c. In university, student must dress accordingly as
a student. In university there are many students from different
courses. For example masscomm, business, pre-com (PD002) and e.t.c.
However, some of the courses sometimes do not follow the dress code because
they want to follow the celebraties’ fashion. This is also happens to
MPD002 students. However, following celebraties’ fashion can bring many
disadvantages such as it is a waste of money, it can lead to crime and lack of
interest in learning.
Firstly, one of the disadvantages from PD002 student’s being trendy is it is a
waste of money. The first reason why it is a waste of money is because student
will use their allowances to buy their clothes. Previously PD002 students’ did
not get allowance from the government. Now all PD002 students receives it twice
per month to spend their food, but they misuse the allowance to buy their
clothing. This is to get the attention from the other guys in campus. Thus
being trendy can be negative effect. University will sue anuone who broke the
rule and they have to pay for it. So it can be waste, for those who not follow
the dress code. For example, if they wear a sexy clothes everyday to class, the
fine will be up to RM250.00. Therefore PD002 student’s must know how to manage
their clothing as not to be sued by the police “bantuan”.
Secondly, the other this advantage of PD002 student’s being too trendy is it
can lead to crime. This is because of their indecent clothing. Previously the
female students’ always wear a blouse. This however changed to be sexier and
more a skin tight cloths at their bodies. The they will attract the attention
from the naughty boy and rapist. For example, the female student always wear
tight pants and tight cloth. In addition, the university also has
cleaner, gardener and laborer. One must wear modest clothing. For example, when
a student is waiting for a taxi or bus at a bus stop to go to Dataran Pahlawan
or Mahkota Parade, often wear trendy clothes and most of them are shameful. This is
in tern will make the outsiders view the students negatively Therefore PD002
students’ must wear a suitable dressing to go to class to avoid crime victims.
The third and the last disadvantage of PD002 students’ being too trendy is
learning can be decreased. The first reason why learning can be decreased is
because the student will not concentrate their lecturer’s teaching. Previously
PD002 student always wear a beautiful and polite dressing. However, now are
they busy with their dressing to attract the other guys than listening to the lecturer’s
teaching in the class. For example, they always take care of their look but
ignore what lecturer is teaching and during the final examination. They
get a bad result. In addition, they will be more interested in fashion and more
interested to find the latest designs of clothes, compared to find information
for their studies. Thus, if PD002 student’s still being trendy with the fashion
can be a bit disadvantage from their study.
Therefore, influence, decrease in knowledge and not use the money properly are
the effects of PD002 students’ fashion being too stylish. Due to these, many
students would fail their studies. It is hoped that all PD002 students to be
reduce the sexy clothing in campus because it has negative effects. It is recommended
that they must focus in their studies since they have gotten the chance to
improve their lives.
